2 FANE CRESCENDOS (in what cab?)

I Just Got 2 Fane Crescendos in very good condition,
Can I mix them in a 4X12 cab with normal Fanes or is it better to put them in a 2X12 Hiwatt cab?

(btw ,Thank's Doc For guiding me in this purchase)

You could try them in a 2x12 with your DR103, I think they could handle it. In a 4x12 with a pair of Celestion 100's would be ideal for Gilmour tones.

Congrats on the Crescendo Score, louis!

If you decide on a 2x12 configuration, I'd suggest an "oversized" cabinet. Similar to those that Orange sells. Both Avatar and Lopoline make reproductions. Anyway, give those Crescendos LOTS of air to push around - don't stuff them into a small box that suffocates them.

Dave ,when you say oversized repro cabinet ,do they make the Hiwatt look with the same tolex and grill?
And Doc , when you say mixing them in a 4x12 cab,do you suggest an X pattern or the Crescendos in the bottom
and the Celestions on top ?

Question is ,...on the pictures that is on the forum ,the frames are 4 spoke hamertone grey and I have 8 spoke black,
The dust cap is the same and there is a sticker on the frame written Crescendo 12E 16 ohm ,are those as good as the 4 spoke Hamertone grey?

I haven't seen either Avatar or Lopoline make those with Hiwatt cosmetics. Maybe if someone requested?

AFAIK, the holy grail (guitar) Crescendo is the 12A . You may have Crescendos that were built for Sound Reinforcement and/or were produced later. Not sure how much the models varied. Are there any date codes on yours?
